I am from Mandya, near Mysore. I have a degree in Business Management (B Com) and grew up experiencing rural life. I didn’t realize how some of the problems in rural areas had escaped me - until I had a chance to immerse myself through the Fellowship projects with the Government and NGOs. Having completed the MMFP, I find myself more confident in the way I speak, work, and think about income. I find that I have more opportunities to work, and my income has also increase. I feel I am disciplined enough to take up any challenge.

I belong to a humble background, and I grew up in very difficult circumstances. I always felt uncomfortable, as I could not speak English. I also took everything at face value - and would often question my own skills, strengths, and principles because of others. The nine-month Fellowship gave me a grounding that helped me understand myself and my circumstances in a way that change became possible. I am confident of my language and communications skills today, and serve as the Public Relations Officer at Victoria. I love helping patients out and I think my good work contributes to the brand image of the hospital. I am also preparing for the Karnataka Administrative Examinations (KAS).

I’m a Political Science, Economics & History Graduate. I was always keen to explore the workings of the NGO Sector. I was curious to know if the development sector offered a fulfilling career. When I joined the Mercy Mission Fellowship Program, I immediately loved the diversity of my cohort: I met people from various knowledge streams and it enriched my learning and appreciation of others. I am currently working in an NGO in Bengaluru, and see a future career in this sector. The Fellowship Program taught me the workings of organizations, panchayats, and government offices - knowledge that helps me plan and make better decisions each day.
